Our Team

Tim den Dekker, B.Sc., AA Dipl.
Director
Tim is an architect and actuary who specialises in low carbon construction and board-level strategic risk advice. Tim is co-founder of the Part Z proposals to regulate embodied carbon in the UK, is founder and coordinator of The Embodied Carbon Group which advises UK government on achieving its emissions targets for the built environment. He also helps lead the circular economy and embodied carbon research groups within LETI. As an associate at the award-winning practice Feilden Clegg Bradley Studios, Tim helps lead the practice’s transition to net zero carbon by 2025. As insurance risk lead at management consultant at Oliver Wyman, Tim authored leading edge insurance risk capital and value management framework which has been adopted by most global multinational insurance conglomerates. Here he also led a review to overhaul the Lloyd’s of London insurance market Risk Based Capital framework.
Tim's understanding of actuarial science gives him an ideal platform to interface with insurance skilled experts in identifying the alternatives to the historically available insurance markets and the benefits that innovation in transfer of the risks in the future industry needing insurance protection can be assessed, stress-tested and delivered.

Roger Flaxman, ACII, MAE, CIP, AEA, CEOR
Director
Roger Flaxman has 50 years' experience in the insurance industry with special focus on construction industry risks including property, contractors, professional disciplines and ancillary services. Roger has been an independent troubleshooting consultant since 2001 after a 31-year career in the industry as a leading international broker.
Roger no longer sells or arranges insurance thereby retaining complete impartiality and independence from any insurance company or broker. His particular relevance to the question of future insurance is understanding how claims are managed, in practice, and the many conflicting issues that both delay claim settlement and increase the cost of doing so.

Oliver Schofield, B.A. (Joint Hons)
Director
Oliver Schofield is the founding director of RISCS (www.riscs.org) an independent captive and alternative risk advisory firm that provides innovative, strategic risk consultancy to brokers, underwriters, corporates and captives. Oliver has more than 35 years’ experience in captive and alternative reinsurance sector and together with the RISCS team has worked extensively in designing and implementing captive vehicles in all the major captive domiciles with industries from all corners of the world.
His reinsurance background prior to specialising in captives enables him to recognise the pros and cons of the several different types of alternative risk transfer solutions and also how captives and ART can be parts of an overall insurance programme as distinguished from an entire insurance programme in themselves.
